Job Purpose
The Sales Consultant will be responsible for driving sales growth, distribution, and brand presence of the brand across on-consumption (HORECA, cafés, restaurants, hotels, bars, gyms, offices) and off-consumption (retail stores, forecourts, wholesalers, convenience stores) channels within Gauteng Region (Johannesburg & Pretoria).
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Identify, prospect, and secure new customers across on-consumption and off-consumption channels
- Grow volume, revenue, and distribution in line with monthly and quarterly targets
- Implement agreed pricing, promotions, and commercial terms
- Execute product launches, activations, and promotions in the trade
Account Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers (owners, managers, buyers)
- Manage existing accounts to ensure consistent ordering, optimal ranging, and brand compliance
- Negotiate listings, menu placements, fridge placements, and shelf space where applicable
- Resolve customer queries, stock issues, and service-related matters efficiently
Trade Execution & Brand Presence
- Ensure correct product availability, visibility, and merchandising standards
- Monitor competitor activity and provide market intelligence feedback
- Ensure point-of-sale material is correctly placed and maintained
- Support brand-building initiatives in line with marketing strategy
Administration & Reporting
- Accurately capture orders, call cycles, and customer information
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports
- Maintain an updated customer database and pipeline
- Track performance against targets and action corrective measures where required
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Sales volume and revenue growth
- New account acquisition
- Distribution and numeric coverage
- Call efficiency and route compliance
- Brand visibility and execution standards
Education & Experience
- Matric (Grade 12) – essential
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in FMCG sales, preferably beverages or bottled water
- Experience working with independent trade, forecourts, and HORECA is advantageous
Skills & Competencies
- Strong sales, negotiation, and closing skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building ability
- Good planning, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively
- Strong numerical and reporting capability
Other Requirements
- Valid South African driver’s license
- Own reliable vehicle
- Ability to work flexible hours when required
