Ivanplats is looking for a Shift Boss Development REF: IVP-ENG-2502IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”.
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12
- Blasting Certificate
- Mine Overseers Certificate Part A (preferred)
- 3-5 Years’ Underground Mining Experience
- 2 Years Shift Boss
- Underground Mining
- Supervisory and leadership skills are essential
- Computer Skills for Material/Stock ordering
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Standards and Procedures
- Problem solving
- Planning and Leadership skills
- Analytical and systematic
- Integrity and objectivity
- Risk awareness and management
- Conduct Start of shift staff planning and provide instruction to Miners.
- Monitor processes and procedures during shift to ensure compliance to SOPs, COPs, and production targets.
- Check stock levels and order stock to ensure that required materials are available for shift.
- Prevent and report on breakdowns, damages and wastage of material and resources.
- Oversee the health and safety of subordinate staff in work area.
- Conduct end of shift safety, compliance, and reporting procedures.
- Provide feedback to be used in reports.
- Coordinate, monitor and supervise the performance of direct reports.
