Role Overview
We are urgently seeking a skilled and reliable Fitter and Turner for a temporary assignment based in Roodepoort. The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting, assembling, and maintaining mechanical components and systems. This role may transition into a permanent position based on performance and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform fitting, turning, and machining tasks to specification
- Assemble and install mechanical components and systems
- Conduct fault finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Operate lathes, milling machines, and other workshop equipment
- Read and interpret technical drawings and job cards
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Complete job reports and communicate effectively with supervisors
Working Conditions
- Workshop and plant-based environment
- May involve shift work or overtime depending on operational needs
- Physically demanding; requires manual handling and standing for extended periods

- Minimum 3 years’ post-trade experience in a production or maintenance environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and precision machining skills

- Own transport or reliable commute to Roodepoort
- Available to start immediately
