Minimum requirements for the role:
Must have a tertiary qualification in Plant, Soil, or Agricultural Sciences, along with AVCASA and BASOS accreditation A Diploma, certificate or relevant courses in financial management, administration or marketing will be advantageous Minimum 35 years practical sales and business development experience in commercial agriculture Must have hands-on experience in crop production, farm implements, irrigation and general agricultural practice Proven experience in growing sales within a defined area and influencing behavioural and strategic shifts required to grow the business Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with farmers and distribution partners Must have a valid drivers license and be willing to travel extensively within the region
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Leading and managing the area office and area warehouse to ensure operational and sales excellence. Promoting company products and brand profile with farmers, agents, and key stakeholders within the region. Building and maintaining strong, trusted relationships with distribution partners and farmers. Developing and implementing an area-specific sales and marketing strategy focused on both current performance and sustainable future growth. Driving area sales performance in line with budgets and strategic objectives. Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and regional strategies to remain relevant and competitive. Providing reliable, solution-driven technical support to agents and farmers across a range of crops. Taking ownership of customer queries and complaints, ensuring timely investigation and appropriate resolution. Coordinating product training sessions, promotions, and regional marketing initiatives. Participating in and supporting research, demonstration, and field trials. Identifying and assisting in the development of niche market opportunities and new product applications. Working closely with the marketing team to contribute technical input and information to stakeholders. Travelling extensively within the Northern Territory to support sales, technical service, and relationship management.
