Description:
Job PurposeTo ensure that insulation installation activities comply with approved specifications, drawings, client requirements, and relevant industry standards. The Insulation QC Level 2 is responsible for inspections, quality verification, and documentation to ensure workmanship meets contractual and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities Inspect insulation works (hot, cold, acoustic, fireproofing) in accordance with project specifications, procedures, and ITPs Verify correct insulation materials, thicknesses, cladding, banding, and finishes Ensure compliance with approved drawings, method statements, and quality plans Conduct visual inspections and dimensional checks before, during, and after installation Monitor workmanship to prevent defects and rework Complete QC inspection checklists, reports, and turnover dossiers Identify, record, and follow up on non-conformances (NCRs) Compile punch lists and track close-out of defects Maintain accurate inspection records and traceability documentation Ensure insulation works comply with relevant standards (e.g. SANS, ASTM, ISO, client specifications) Verify compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements Liaise with supervisors, engineers, contractors, and client representatives Provide technical guidance to insulation teams Support commissioning and handover activities Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent Recognised Insulation QC / Quality Control qualification (Level 2) Minimum 35 years experience in insulation works At least 2 years in a QC/inspection role Experience with hot, cold, and acoustic insulation systems
