Description:

      • Netcare The Bay Hospital is seeking a dynamic and experienced Unit Manager – ICU to lead and coordinate quality nursing care within the Intensive Care Unit. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with ethical standards, professional practices, and organisational objectives while driving service excellence and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centred nursing care
  • Manage financial aspects including cost control, skill mix, correct billing, and stock management
  • Oversee governance, quality assurance, and risk management
  • Lead and support ICU teams while promoting transformation and people development
  • Ensure effective resource allocation and administrative management
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with medical stakeholders
Minimum Requirements:
  • Diploma in General Nursing (NQF 6) or BCur Degree (NQF 7)
  • Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse
  • Post-Basic Qualification in Critical Care Nursing (SANC Accredited) -Essential
  • Management qualification (advantageous)
  • 4–6 years’ experience in ICU/High Care – Essential
  • 2–3 years’ managerial experience in a multidisciplinary environment -Essential
  • Intermediate computer literacy
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret financial data
