Description:
- Responsible for the technical management, supervision and control of industrial production processes. Ensure that adequate safety, health and environmental hazards are identified and reported. Provide resources to your subordinates to eliminate hazards and improve health and safety.
- Incorporate safety, health, environment issues in your daily communication with your employees.
- Assist in any investigation of incidents which have occurred in your work area or by one of your sub ordinates, to avoid recurrence.
- Ensure hazards and risks are identified for all plant and major equipment.
- Focus on the elimination of unsafe acts and rectify unsafe conditions.
- Set production targets for each area of responsibility daily and Communicate production targets to employees.
- Ensure that resources are available to meet production requirements.
- Monitor actual output to targets regularly during the shift.
- Assist employees with any hindrances which are preventing them from achieving targets.
- Report on progress to target to your manager.
- Complete production reports and graphs at the end of each shift.
- Attend daily meetings with manager and colleagues to discuss production requirements
- Ensure required number of employees are scheduled for each shift and Check that employees report for shift and assist in acquiring suitable replacements where required.
- Identify training needs to ensure improving skills of employees.
- Initiate disciplinary action of employees where necessary.
- Ensure employee morale remains high and address any issues raised by employees expediently.
