Description:
Manages financial operations for warehouses/logistics, focusing on inventory, stock movement, AR/AP, reporting, and compliance, acting as a bridge between finance and operations to ensure accurate cost tracking, asset management (like fixed assets), efficient month-end closing, and supporting strategic decisions with financial analysis, all while handling daily transactions and audits.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Stock Control
Reconcile inventory, investigate discrepancies, conduct cycle counts, monitor stock levels, and analyze inventory costs/turnover.
Accounts Payable (AP)
Verify supplier invoices, process payments, manage supplier onboarding, resolve queries, and ensure compliance with procedures.
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Oversee billing, manage outstanding payments, and coordinate with shared services for revenue management.
Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly/weekly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and support audits/tax filings.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist with budget preparation, variance analysis, and financial planning.
Fixed Assets
Manage the fixed asset register, including additions, depreciation, and disposals.
Operational Liaison
Work closely with warehouse, procurement, and logistics teams to link financial data with operational activities.
Process Improvement
Drive efficiency, control costs, and implement better financial systems within the distribution center.
Requirements:
- Accounting Principles: 4 to 5 years
- Degree in Accounting/Finance.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS).
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Pastel, Syspro) and MS Excel.
- Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication to liaise with operations and finance.
- Experience in supply chain, logistics, or distribution environments
