Description:

A well-established company based in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ generalist HR experience with strong IR exposure, sound knowledge of South African labour legislation, and proven ability to manage HR operations across multiple sites. This role requires hands-on experience in disciplinary processes, recruitment, payroll inputs, statutory reporting, and overall HR administration, as well as excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills. A relevant HR qualification, proficiency in Microsoft Office, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel to regional branches are essential. REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ HR experience in a generalist role with strong industrial relations (IR) exposure
  • Relevant qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or a related field
  • Proven experience managing HR operations across multiple sites (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to regional branches
  • Solid working knowledge of South African labour legislation
  • Proven experience handling disciplinary matters, hearings, and HR-related investigations
  • Strong recruitment experience, including drafting job descriptions, candidate screening, and interview processes
  • Ability to manage payroll inputs, employee movements, and monthly HR administration
  • Experience with statutory reporting, including Employment Equity, Skills Development, and Workman’s Compensation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities
  • Ability to work professionally with employees, managers, and external partners
  • High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail
  • Confident, professional, and approachable in all interactions
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

DUTIES:
  • The HR Manager is responsible for delivering all HR and industrial relations (IR) functions across the business, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll inputs, compliance, statutory reporting, employee relations, and employee experience. This role ensures that HR processes are implemented professionally, accurately, and consistently across all branches.

HR Operations and Administration:
  • Manage, direct, and oversee the full HR function across all branches
  • Manage monthly payroll inputs and employee movement processing
  • Maintain HR policies, employee records, contracts, and compliance documentation
  • Provide support during audits and Department of Labour inspections
  • Ensure complete, accurate, and up-to-date employee documentation at all times

Statutory Compliance:
  • Coordinate all statutory submissions, including Employment Equity (EE) and WSP/ATR
  • Act as liaison between the company and external statutory bodies and partners
  • Ensure accurate training reporting through the Skills Development programme
  • Support and monitor POPIA compliance across the organization

Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Manage the full recruitment and onboarding lifecycle for all allocated roles
  • Prepare internal vacancy advertisements and job profiles
  • Conduct screening, interviews, reference checks, and coordinate assessment processes

Industrial Relations (IR) and Labour Law Compliance:
  • Provide IR support to managers in partnership with external service providers
  • Ensure the implementation and adherence to HR policies and procedures
  • Prepare documentation for disciplinary hearings and manage related processes

Performance Management:
  • Manage probation reviews, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and performance follow-ups
  • Support performance discussions and train managers on performance management procedures

Training, Skills Development, and Succession Planning:
  • Drive skills development reporting and coordinate training providers
  • Support long-term organisational capability and succession planning initiatives

Culture, Engagement, and Wellness (Social & Ethics):
  • Drive employee engagement, wellness initiatives, and organisational culture activities
  • Coordinate values-based training and staff onboarding sessions
HOURS:
  • Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 17:00
