We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Maintenance Workshop Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, and availability of mobile mining and construction equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing workshop operations, ensuring equipment reliability, controlling costs, and maintaining high safety and quality standards .
Key Responsibilities
- Workshop & Field Operations: Manage daily workshop operations and field service activities for mobile mining and construction equipment across five diverse client sites.
- Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring maximum equipment availability and reliability.
- Site-Specific Equipment Care: Implement specialized maintenance protocols for machines operating in corrosive fertilizer environments and high-debris landfill sites to prevent premature wear and failure.
- Technical Reporting: Provide detailed technical failure reports and recommendations, specifically investigating equipment failures to implement corrective actions.
- Staff Leadership: Lead, coach, and manage artisans, mechanics, and support staff, ensuring high safety awareness and quality standards.
- Budget & Inventory Control: Control maintenance budgets, spares, and inventory, ensuring cost-effective procurement for a medium-sized fleet.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with OEM standards, Mine Health and Safety Act regulations, and company-specific safety policies.
- Environmental Stewardship: Manage the correct disposal of hazardous waste (oil, filters, chemicals) in accordance with environmental regulations at landfill and mining sites.
- Client & Supplier Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, suppliers, and OEM representatives to ensure operational alignment.
- Administrative Accuracy: Ensure the accurate administration of Job Requests and Job Cards to maintain a complete service history for every asset.
- Fleet Support: Provide technical and operational support to the Fleet Manager to optimize asset lifecycle and replacement cycles.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive improvements in maintenance processes to enhance performance in production-driven environments.
- Travel & Site Inspections: Conduct regular site visits and travel between various client locations as required to audit equipment condition and team performance.
