Primary Purpose of the RoleThe Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and finalising complex data centre infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards while coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe duties for a Project Manager in this type of company/sector typically include:Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.Develop detailed project plans, schedules, resource plans, and timelines.Lead all phases of the project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & control, and closure.Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, construction, operations, third-party vendors) to deliver infrastructure projects.Prepare and manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure financial compliance.Track and report on financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve issues proactively.Maintain risk logs and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.Provide regular status updates and reports to stakeholders and senior management.Facilitate meetings, track action items, and ensure effective communication with all parties involved.Create and maintain project documentation according to PMO best practices: charters, detailed plans, RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), close-out reports, etc. Experience- Several years of project management experience (often 3–7+ years depending on seniority).
- Experience in data centre, IT infrastructure, construction, or engineering projects is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, hybrid).
- Excellent planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in project tools like Microsoft Project, JIRA, Smartsheet, or similar.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and deliver results on time and within scope.
Requirements:
