Join a leading manufacturing company where your expertise in SHEQ management will help ensure a safe, compliant and efficient workplace â and make a tangible impact every day. About the Role:As the SHEQ Officer, youâll be the driving force behind all Safety, Health, Environment and Quality systems.Your mission: to uphold ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001), ensure legal compliance, and build a culture of safety and excellence across every level of the organisation. Youâll work closely with the SHEQ Manager and leadership team to implement, monitor and continuously improve the companyâs integrated management systems â from audits and inspections to reporting, training and emergency preparedness. Key Focus Areas:Legal & Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with the OHS Act and related legislation.
- Schedule and manage external audits, risk assessments, and medical surveillance.
- Maintain and update the companyâs Health & Safety Management System and environmental plans.
- Enforce legal and company SHEQ requirements across all departments and contractors.
Management Systems:
- Conduct workplace inspections and safety checks, mitigating risks proactively.
- Draft, review and update SHEQ policies and procedures based on audit findings.
- Manage ISO documentation, safety files and internal audits.
- Lead emergency response planning, waste management and 6S implementation.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and compliance.
- Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses and report to relevant authorities where necessary.
- Prepare and present SHE performance reports, statistics and corrective action plans.
- Manage HIRA assessments and ensure risk profiles are up to date.
Training & Awareness:
- Identify and coordinate safety-related training (first aid, firefighting, forklift, safety reps, etc.).
- Conduct safety inductions for employees, contractors and visitors.
- Promote SHE awareness through toolbox talks, posters and ongoing communication.
What Youâll Bring:
- Matric (Grade 12) essential.
- SAMTRAC / NEBOSH certification or equivalent SHE qualification.
- SO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 implementation and auditing experience.
- Minimum 3 years experience in a SHEQ role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong report writing, auditing and communication skills.
- Computer literacy (MS Office Suite).
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to work independently.
