Bachelor’s in Electrical/Mechatronic Engineering (or similar) 4+ years in mine hoisting systems, with AC/DC winder installation/commissioning Technical Proficiency in: AC/DC drive systems (ABB, Siemens, or similar) PLC programming (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell) HMI/SCADA design for hoist control Regulatory Knowledge: MHSA compliance, risk assessments, and explosion-proof (Ex) standards Soft Skills: Problem-solving under pressure, client-facing communication, and leadershipKey Responsibilities:
Design, configure, and commission mine hoists (AC/DC winders) for shaft sinking and production Perform dynamic testing, audits, and troubleshooting of hoisting systems Oversee powertrain dimensioning, drive systems (ABB/Siemens), and control panels Develop functional specifications and ensure compliance with Mine Health & Safety Act (MHSA) Lead FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) and SAT (Site Acceptance Tests) Provide after-hours engineering support for critical hoist operations Work with clients, subcontractors, and OEMs to resolve technical issues Train site teams on hoist operation and safety protocols
