Description:
Minimum Requirements:- Trade test or Engineering Diploma
- Plastic, Rubber or Silicon injection/extrusion experience
- Process engineering experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Based in Pietermaritzburg or close surrounds
Duties and experience:
1. Reports to Maintenance Manager.
2. Provide technical oversight to supervisors and setters in the department to ensure safe and
proper use of equipment in the production areas.
3. Main responsibility for troubleshooting and process improvements on various injection
moulding equipment.
4. Troubleshoot machine and setting issues and solve or diagnose where possible. This includes
plasma cutting, HPDC, plastic injection, CNC setting & programming, rubber injection, liquid
silicon injection.
5. Ensure dies and machines are correctly set to maximise production output.
6. Communicate with toolroom to ensure dies are well maintained and serviced. Conduct basic
maintenance of tools.
7. Ensure dies and machines are in good order to ensure the best quality products.
8. Oversee, train and mentor setters and supervisors where required.
9. Feedback improvement suggestions to toolroom, maintenance & production
10. Review processes to improve where possible.
11. Creating and improving jigging where applicable to improve quality.
12. Actively seek to continuously improve relevant processes through application of Lean tools.
13. Any other reasonable instruction from the direct reporting manager.
