Description:
Roles and ResponsibilitiesDuties:
Promote occupational health and safety within the organisation and develop safer and healthier ways of working
Assist with the preparation of construction health and safety plans, policies, procedures and manuals
Assist in reviewing and updating the health and safety plans, policies, procedures and manuals
Ensure that the required health and safety documentation was submitted to the relevant authorities
Compile project specific emergency response and preparedness plans
Test the effectiveness of the emergency response plans, and make adjustments where required
Participate in the reporting and investigation of project related incidents
Oversee the maintenance of all health and safety records for all sites responsible
Participate in management reviews of the health and safety management system
Identify system deficiencies and recommend relevant interventions and improvements
Incorporate changed processes, procedures and documentation into the health and safety management system
Prepare technical reports in relation to health and safety issues
Requirements:
National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management or NQF Level 6 equivalent
Registered as a Professional Construction Health and Safety Officer under the SACPCMP
SAMTRAC Certificate or equivalent Occupational Health and Safety Training
5 years experience in similar role in the private sector
2-3 years experience in construction and/or housing industry
