Overview and Key Responsibilities
The Sales Engineer will be responsible for the growth in sales by bringing online profitable new business covering the full range of products in all related markets in accordance with present targets on a monthly and annual basis. Further, maintains and services the company’s current regional customer base.
The Sales Engineer will function in the following key areas of responsibility, which include but are not limited to:
1. Growing company sales through prospecting for new clients in line with set sales targets;
2. Responsible for stewarding current accounts and ensuring customer satisfaction is delivered and maintained;
3. Growing Air Products’ market presence through various marketing initiatives; 4. Ensuring adherence to company SHERQ procedures and policies (including relevant legislation);
5. Carrying out sales administrative duties and any general ad hoc duties;
6. Responsible for business and personal development within the sales environment.
Requirements:
1. Grade 12 with Maths and Science;
2. Recognised Certificate / Diploma / Degree in Sales & Marketing;
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales within the industrial, technical, or gas-related industry;
4. Knowledge of Industrial and Specialty Gases (advantageous);
5.Proven track record in negotiating at high levels and building strong customer relationships;
6. Must be target-driven and customer-centric;
7. A valid unendorsed code 8 driver’s licence with own reliable transport;
8. Computer literate and proficient in the MS Office suite;
9. Must have good verbal and written communication skills;
10. Strong attention to detail and report writing skills;
11. Able and willing to travel.
