Our client, a reputable pharmacy group, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to oversee their financial operations. This role will suit someone with completed articles, strong technical accounting skills, and experience collaborating with auditors. You will also be required to lead a small finance team and support the business with accurate reporting and insights.
Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounting operations and oversee a small finance team

Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements, including SARS and CIPC submissions

Implement, refine, and enforce accounting procedures and internal controls

Prepare timely and accurate management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
-
Collaborate with external auditors and assist during annual audits
-
Perform annual VAT reconciliations and other statutory financial reporting
-
Oversee stock accounting, reconciliations, and variance analysis (if applicable)

Provide financial insights, reporting, and recommendations to senior management
-
Support continuous improvement of accounting systems and processes

Qualified Accountant (CA / SAIPA preferred) with completed articles
