Our client, a leading company based in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town, is seeking a dynamic External Sales Person to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, excellent communication skills, and the ability to design and create engaging, welcoming spaces. Previous showroom sales experience, proficiency in English and Afrikaans, and a friendly, confident, and professional demeanor are essential. A valid driver’s license, the ability to read drawings, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required, while experience with Cin7 and HubSpot will be an advantage. EMPLOYMENT TYPE : Permanent

BASIC SALARY : R25 000.00 – R38 000.00 + Commission + Benefits
START DATE : A.S.A.P / Immediate

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Matric
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Good communication skills
  • Proven track record of selling similar products/services
  • Ability to read drawings
  • Ability to design and create spaces that are engaging and welcoming
  • Strong sales techniques
  • Previous showroom sales experience
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • Proficiency in English and Afrikaans
  • Friendly, helpful, confident, and engaging personality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Cin7 and HubSpot is beneficial

DUTIES:
  • Generate new leads through cold calling, site visits, and other innovative methods or connections.
  • Build, maintain, and consistently grow a strong client base.
  • Upsell at every opportunity by collecting detailed information about projects and the professionals involved.
  • Source and develop prospective new clients to generate business and optimize sales, including making and reporting on the required number of cold calls via
  • In-person visits to offices, factories, and construction sites.
  • Read drawings and extract bills of quantities for lighting requirements.
  • Create lighting layouts/designs (positioning of lights on drawings) in accordance with project requirements and industry best practices.
  • Prepare technical and architectural product specifications according to client requirements.
  • Communicate with clients at all stages of the project.
  • Submit clear and professional quotations and proposals for current and prospective clients.
  • Consistently reach and exceed monthly sales targets.
  • Research and stay up to date with lighting trends, technology, and industry standards.
  • Facilitate showroom visits and present products to existing and prospective clients.
  • Assist in the training of internal sales consultants as required.
HOURS:
  • Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 17:00
  • Friday: 08:00 - 16:00
  • Every 1st & Last Saturday: 09h00 – 13h00 (on a rotational basis; some months you won’t work on a weekend)
