About the roleThe Business Development Officer will be responsible for providing business development support and financial administration for start-ups within the Business Development Support Unit. The role requires close collaboration with start-ups, partners, and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations and ensure effective support services. The Intern will work under the supervision of the Business Development Manager.
Responsibilities
Provide overall administrative support for the Business Development Support Unit. Handle and respond to email inquiries. Assist with the coordination of events and training sessions for start-ups. Support in scheduling meetings with start-ups, partners and stakeholders. Evaluate online applications for the business incubation programme. Provide relevant business advisory services and information to start-ups. Conduct business assessments for incubated start-ups. Administer and compile monthly and quarterly reports. Assist start-ups with financial administration, including management accounts/finances. Support programme management activities. In collaboration with Marketing and Communications, ensure that credible success stories are published with start-ups profiled. Participate in events, meetings, workshops and conferences. Ensuring strong stakeholder relationship. Minimum Requirements
South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34. Must not have participated on the YES programme before. Matric. Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship or a related field will be an added advantage. Key Competencies:
