Description:
OverviewThe Civil / Structural Engineer (Site) will provide on-site technical oversight of all civil and structural construction activities for utility-scale Solar PV projects. This includes monitoring earthworks, platforms, drainage, trenching, and verifying compliance to IFC drawings and specifications. The role also supports turnover documentation from construction through PAC and COD. One engineer will be assigned per site.
Key Responsibilities
Site Civil Works Monitoring
Monitor construction of platforms, roadworks, stormwater drainage systems, and trenching activities. Ensure civil works comply with approved IFC drawings, geotechnical recommendations, and project standards. Verify compaction, grading, and material quality through site inspections and test reviews. IFC Compliance & Approvals
Approve earthworks, foundations, and structural elements for compliance with IFC documentation. Review redlines, field changes, and ensure alignment between design intent and installed conditions. Identify and resolve non-conformances in collaboration with EPC and civil subcontractors. Turnover Documentation & Handover Support
Support preparation and verification of civil turnover documentation required for PAC and COD milestones. Validate as-built drawings, test results, geotechnical reports, and drainage compliance records. Participate in punch-list development, close-out, and handover sequencing. Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and structural teams to resolve site civil issues. Provide daily/weekly progress reporting, inspection notes, and quality observations. Maintain accurate site records including test results, inspections, NCRs, and approvals.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Requirements
BSc / BTech in Civil Engineering (Structural or Geotechnical focus advantageous). 10+ years experience in civil/structural engineering for infrastructure, industrial, or renewable energy projects. Strong experience in earthworks, drainage, roads, trenching, and structural platforms. Ability to interpret civil drawings, geotechnical reports, and construction specifications. Preferred Skills & Attributes
Experience in Solar PV or power-infrastructure projects (advantageous). Strong attention to detail and ability to identify construction deviations early. Effective communication and coordination ability with EPC, subcontractors, and design teams. Competent in civil QA/QC documentation and as-built verification.
