Description:
Key responsibilities:Coordinate and manage the activities of MRAC- and MOSAC-related committees and task teams. Oversee the progression, alignment, and output of working groups involved in legislative updates. Ensure that all committee activities run efficiently with the support of an assigned administrator. Contribute to the development, review, and updating of mining guidelines and regulations. Provide technical input in areas relating to mining engineering, operational safety, and regulatory compliance. Participate in drafting, reviewing, and finalising committee outputs and documentation. Develop timelines, project plans, and delivery milestones for committee-led initiatives. Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions. Ensure alignment between task team activities and overall legislative objectives. Facilitate collaboration between committee members, external experts, and internal role players. Prepare and deliver progress reports, technical summaries, and status updates when required. Support coordination of meetings, workshops, and consultations. Strong project/programme management capability. Technical understanding of mining legislation, engineering principles, and safety standards. Excellent coordination, communication, and facilitation skills. Ability to synthesise technical information into clear, actionable outputs. High level of professionalism and stakeholder management skills. Minimum Qualifications and Experience Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree (NQF Level 7) in either Mining, Engineering, Occupational Health and/or Safety, or another mining-related field Must have at least 5 years' experience in the mining industry (excluding graduate training) Practical experience working with mining standards, regulations, safety systems, or engineering processes Prior involvement with technical committees, guidelines development, or regulatory frameworks will be advantageous
