Description:
The Role
Ensure optimal performance and reliability of wind turbine generators and hybrid renewable assets through technical expertise and leadership. This role includes mentoring technicians, overseeing safety compliance, and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities Include:
HSSE & Compliance
- Adhere to all safety standards and act as a proactive safety role model.
- Identify and address gaps in safety protocols and operational risks.
Technical & Operational
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of wind turbines.
- Lead root-cause analysis for system faults and underperformance events.
- Ensure proper condition of service vehicles, tools, and spare parts.
Leadership & Mentorship
- Conduct quality audits on junior staff and processes and recommend improvements.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to Service Technicians I/II.
- Lead execution for assigned projects and support change management initiatives.
Analytics & Reporting
- Monitor turbine’s key performance metrics, that is, plant availability, downtime (impact due to planned and unplanned maintenance, curtailments) and maintenance-cost optimisation.
- Generate operational reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI.
- Develop use cases to improve operational plant’s efficiency
Project and Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners compliance and reporting.
- Support Seriti Green’s renewable portfolio expansion through data integration across plants and other hybrid technologies.
Systems Optimisation
- Identify inefficiencies and implement data-driven improvements.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for compliance and corrective actions.
Education & Experience
- BTech or National Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- Electrical Trade Certificate or Fitter Certificate.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in turbine service or relevant technical role.
- Experience in renewable energy operations (wind essential; solar/hybrid advantageous, solar/ hybrid advantageous).
- Certification: Global Wind Organisation, ORHVS, Electrical Safety
- Driver’s License
Technical & Soft Skills
- Proven experience with SCADA/historian systems, Toolkit/other diagnostic software, Power BI or other relevant data visualisation tools.
- Understanding of machine-learning, AI tools and statistical-modelling techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Competency in fault finding, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate technical information into actionable insights.
- Collaborative, organised, and effective in cross-functional environments.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
