Job PurposeThe Pass Controller is responsible for controlling and monitoring the movement of guests, staff, suppliers, and vehicles in and out of the premises. This role ensures security, accurate record-keeping, and adherence to access control policies while maintaining a professional and courteous presence. Key ResponsibilitiesAccess Control & SecurityMonitor entry and exit points for guests, staff, contractors, and suppliers.Issue and check passes, ID cards, or access credentials.Ensure only authorized personnel gain access to the premises.Record and track all visitor and vehicle movements.Monitoring & SurveillanceMonitor security cameras, gates, and alarms for suspicious activity.Conduct routine inspections of the access points and surrounding areas.Report security breaches, incidents, or irregularities promptly.Record-Keeping & AdministrationMaintain accurate logs of entries, exits, and passes issued.Compile reports for management on access trends or incidents.Ensure proper filing and documentation of temporary passes and permits.Guest & Staff InteractionGreet and assist visitors and staff courteously.Provide directions and information as required.Handle queries professionally and escalate concerns when necessary.Compliance & SafetyEnsure compliance with lodge, company, or estate access policies.Follow safety, health, and emergency procedures.Participate in security drills and training sessions. Qualifications- Matric / Grade 12 (essential).
- Security training or certification (advantageous).
- Valid driver’s license (beneficial in some roles).
- 1–2 years in access control, security, or reception roles.
- Experience in a lodge, resort, or corporate security environment is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of access control systems and security procedures.
- Ability to operate gates, CCTV systems, and visitor management software.
- Record-keeping and administrative skills.
