A well-established organisation in the Southern Suburbs is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper who is mature, experienced, and capable of managing the full bookkeeping function to balance sheet. The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-driven, and confident in handling all statutory requirements including VAT, PAYE and related submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
Full bookkeeping function to trial balance and balance sheet. Processing and reconciling all financial transactions, including cashbooks, journals, and general ledgers. Prepare monthly management reports and assist with month-end and year-end procedures. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Perform bank, creditor, debtor, and balance sheet reconciliations. Handle all statutory submissions including VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL, EMP201 and EMP501. Maintain fixed asset registers and ensure accurate depreciation calculations. Liaise with auditors, external accountants, and SARS where required. Ensure compliance with all financial policies, procedures, and regulations.Minimum Requirements:
Matric with a relevant Accounting or Bookkeeping qualification/certification. Minimum 5 years experience as a Senior Bookkeeper handling the full function to balance sheet. Strong working knowledge of VAT, PAYE, and statutory compliance. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Sage, Xero) and MS Excel. Excellent numerical accuracy, organisational skills, and problem-solving ability. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
