They are seeking an Actuarial Specialist / Actuary to drive the growth of their actuarial practice, supporting audit and advisory teams across South Africa. Provide actuarial audit support across life, non-life, retirement fund, and medical scheme clients. Perform independent reviews of IFRS 17, IAS 19, and related actuarial obligations. Support model validation, reserving, capital optimization, and reinsurance analysis. Collaborate with clients to strengthen actuarial and risk management frameworks. Assist with proposals, thought leadership, and business development initiatives. Take a leading role in developing and expanding a new actuarial service line.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
Qualified or near-qualified Actuary (FASSA or equivalent). Experience in audit support, actuarial consulting, or financial reporting within insurance, retirement funds, or medical schemes. Solid knowledge of IFRS 17, SAM, ORSA, and reinsurance principles. Technical proficiency in Prophet, Python, SQL, SAS, Power BI, or MATLAB. Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders. Proactive, entrepreneurial, and detail-oriented motivated to build and grow a practice.
