Key Responsibilities
The Financial Manager will oversee the entire financial function of the company, ensuring financial reporting accuracy, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial control to support business growth.
1. Financial Reporting and Control
Oversee and manage the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial statements.
Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or appropriate accounting frameworks.
Manage the general ledger, reconciliations, and the maintenance of the fixed asset register.
Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
2. Budgeting, Forecasting, and Analysis
Lead the annual budgeting process and the preparation of ongoing financial forecasts.
Conduct variance analysis against budget and prior periods, providing detailed commentary and strategic recommendations to executive management.
Perform cost analysis for key service lines (e.g., mobile medicals, training programs) to ensure optimal pricing and profitability.
3. Cash Flow and Treasury Management
Monitor and manage the company’s daily cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
Oversee debtors (Accounts Receivable) and creditors (Accounts Payable) functions to minimize risk and optimize working capital.
4. Tax and Statutory Compliance
Ensure the company is fully compliant with all relevant South African statutory requirements, including VAT, Income Tax, and PAYE (through payroll oversight).
Liaise effectively with external auditors, tax advisors, and relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., SARS).
5. Leadership and Administration
