Description:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Buyer – Local to join our Johannesburg branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services from local suppliers to support operational needs. This role involves close collaboration with internal departments, maintaining supplier relationships, ensuring timely deliveries, and optimizing cost-efficiency and quality in the supply chain.
Requirements:
Matric.
Relevant 3-year National Diploma or Degree in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain.
Management, or a related commercial field.
Preferred: 3–5 years of experience in local procurement, supplier management, or purchasing within a technical, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of procurement processes, local supplier networks, and sourcing strategies within technical or industrial environments.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Sourcing Goods/Services and obtaining quotations.
Executing approved requisitions and placing orders.
Checking Order confirmations and Updating Due dates and Delivery dates.
Identifying cost saving opportunities and taking advantage there-off Expediting open orders and outstanding supplier queries e.g. short deliveries, return to suppliers.
Assist with annual stock take preparations & Take part in annual stock count.
Assist in resolving creditor queries & assist with financial year end requirements.
Provide training and assistance to internal and external customers as and when required.
Ensure compliance with ISO and health and safety requirements.
Perform any reasonable and lawful duties as required by management from time to time.
