Our client is seeking a Payroll Manager to join their team in :-

Location: Port Moresby, PNG

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead our payroll operations in Papua New Guinea. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing for both national and expatriate staff, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of payroll services across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the payroll team to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.

  • Oversee payroll for national and expatriate staff, including salaries, benefits, taxes, and deductions.

  • Reconcile payroll balance sheets, general ledger journals, and group tax.

  • Coordinate closely with HR and Finance to maintain accurate employee records and data sharing.

  • Ensure payroll systems are updated in line with staff contracts, rosters, and allowances.

  • Prepare management and statutory reports (weekly, monthly, and year-end).

  • Manage staff salary sacrifice reconciliations and reporting.

  • Identify training needs and support the professional development of payroll staff.

  • Maintain strict compliance with all payroll-related legislation and internal policies.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Proven leadership and team-management skills.

  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance in PNG.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Advanced attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficiency in the Attache Payroll System and intermediate Microsoft Excel .

  • High integrity, professionalism, and ability to work under pressure.

  • Extensive experience managing high-volume payroll operations.

  • Prior experience leading a payroll team in a medium to large organization.

  • Experience with the Attache Payroll System is highly advantageous.

Performance Indicators:

  • 100% on-time payroll processing and statutory payments.

  • Zero payroll errors or discrepancies.

  • Timely resolution of payroll queries.
