Driving School: Enroll in a certified driving school that offers truck driver training. This prepares you for both the theory and practical tests.

Medical Certificate: A valid medical certificate from a registered practitioner is required to confirm you’re fit to drive heavy vehicles.

Professional Driving Permit (PDP): Mandatory for all commercial drivers. You must apply for a PDP at a DLTC and pass a criminal background check

Working hours can be long and irregular, especially for long-haul routes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operate heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles in a safe and lawful manner.
Transport goods and materials to designated locations according to delivery schedules.
Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance needs.
Ensure all documentation (trip sheets, delivery notes, logbooks, fuel slips) is accurately completed and submitted.
Adhere to company transport policies and road traffic regulations.
Ensure the secure loading and offloading of goods to prevent damage or loss.
Maintain cleanliness and care of the assigned vehicle.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, fleet controllers, and customers.
Report any incidents, delays, or route changes promptly.
Support general yard duties when required.
