Purpose of the roleThe Junior Project Manager is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of small to medium-sized projects or workstreams within larger initiatives.
This role assists in project administration, stakeholder communication, schedule tracking, and risk monitoring to ensure smooth delivery.
Working closely with the Senior Project Manager and broader project team, the Junior Project Manager helps ensure deliverables are met, issues are escalated timeously, and project documentation is maintained.
This role also contributes to process improvements and learns to apply project governance principles in a real-world delivery environment.

Senior Management
Knowledge of the entire business area/BU/company or group. Provide inputs for/formulation of the overall Organisational strategy.
Translates the overall strategy into business plans for BU/Functional Unit, thereby operationalising organisational strategy.
Implements and manages business plan, goals, and objectives and ensures the achievement of overall key Organisational/BU/Functional outputs.
Manages the development of innovation and change
Professionally qualified & experienced specialists/mid-management
Professional knowledge of sub-discipline or discipline.
Provide input in the formulation of Organisational/Functional Unit business plans. Formulate and implement departmental/team plans that will support the BU business plans.
Optimisation of resources (finances, people, material, information, and technology) to achieve given objectives in the most productive and cost-effective way.
Semi-skilled & discretionary decision making
Accountable for the direct product, process, or service quality. Incremental improvement of existing processes and procedures according to clear guidelines.
Choosing of correct action on the basis of set standards, training procedures, and past experience
Unskilled & defined decision-making
Steps to accomplish work or processes are clearly defined and understood.
Tasks are sometimes repetitive and uncomplicated, and the work cycle is short
Requirements:
Qualifications and/ or CertificationDiploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Project Management training or certification (e.g., CAPM, Agile Fundamentals) is advantageous
Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodology preferred
Experience and skills
1–3 years’ experience in a project coordination or junior project management role
Exposure to IT or business systems projects preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Experience with Jira or other project tracking tools is advantageous
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
