Job Description:An exciting opportunity exists for a System Administrator / Query Specialist to join an IT team based in Century City, Cape Town. The role focuses on supporting fuel management solutions powered by Automated Vehicle Identification (AVI) technology and related services. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting enterprise-level data exchanges, APIs, and control processes between servers, sites, and customers. Key Responsibilities:- Monitor systems (site, network, server, imports, exports).
- Validate and sign off on system configurations for correct data flow.
- Conduct system testing after updates.
- Schedule and manage site imports and server exports.
- Perform basic connection testing and troubleshooting.
- Process EONs and assist with automation tasks.
- Prioritize tasks effectively and manage support tickets (creation, follow-up, closure).
- Provide professional feedback to users and escalate issues to Level 3 Support.
- National Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent NQF 5/6 qualification required
- PHP (4+ years) required
- MySQL (any Database 4+ years) required
- Cloud Deployment experience required
- Linux deployment experience required
- Windows deployment experience required
- FTP exchange experience required
- API experience beneficial
- Basic Networking Experience is beneficial
- Knowledge of XML is beneficial
- Any previous support experience beneficial
- Touch typing required
- Good documentation skills
- Commitment to stable systems
- Analytical with a penchant for problem-solving
- Strong ethics
- Willing to learn / willing to share
- Good communication skills
- Be professional/well-spoken / patient
- English and Afrikaans and a third language if possible
- Attention to detail
- Integrate well with our team
- Own transport (commute to work) within working hours
- Be available after hours to restart processes if there is a system failure.
