Bookkeeper

Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly competent Senior Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, accounting principles, and statutory compliance, with excellent analytical and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Complete general ledger duties accurately and efficiently.
Record, update, and reconcile monthly balance sheets.
Calculate and balance sales for SARS VAT submissions.
Prepare financial reports and management accounts.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, VAT, and statutory requirements.
Perform adhoc duties as required by the Finance Manager.
Lead and mentor junior bookkeeping or finance staff.

Requirements:

Experience Required:

Degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 5 years’ bookkeeping experience or
10+ years of bookkeeping experience without a degree.

Qualifications & Competencies:

Matric certificate required; Accounting or Finance degree advantageous.
Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
Ability to multitask and manage work under pressure.

Highly organized, driven, and able to take ownership of tasks.

Skills & Knowledge:

Strong understanding of accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting software; SAP essential.
Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, reconciliations).
Knowledge of tax regulations, VAT, and statutory compliance.
Ability to prepare accurate financial reports and management accounts.
