A well-established manufacturing operation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is seeking a driven, strategic Sales Manager to lead its commercial efforts in the bulk bags / industrial packaging sector. The company supplies major industries including mining, cement, and agriculture, delivering woven polypropylene sacks, FIBCs, and other high-volume packaging solutions. This is an opportunity for a results-oriented sales professional with strong B2B experience to shape growth strategy, expand market share, and build lasting customer partnerships in a fast-growing, high-demand industry
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 5 years’ sales experience in bulk bags, sacks, flexible packaging, or industrial packaging
Proven track record of meeting / exceeding sales targets in B2B / industrial markets
Deep knowledge of key end-use industries (mining, cement, agriculture) and their procurement cycles
Strong negotiation skills, commercial acumen, and ability to manage large contracts
Excellent relationship building, networking, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to travel frequently (domestic, possibly cross-border)
Comfortable managing and mentoring a small sales team
Proficiency in CRM systems, sales forecasting and reporting
Strong communication skills (written & verbal) in English (French or Portuguese a plus)
Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset, results oriented
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the sales strategy for bulk bags / sacks across target industries (mining, cement, agriculture)
Identify and pursue new business opportunities and key accounts (domestic and regional)
Maintain, deepen and grow relationships with existing customers
Lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and contracts to secure profitable deals
Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports for senior management
Monitor market trends, competition, and customer needs; propose product / service enhancements
Coordinate with operations, production, logistics, quality, and finance teams to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction
Manage, train, and mentor sales staff or subordinates
Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and client visits
Follow up on after-sales service issues to ensure retention and upsell opportunities
