Plettenberg Bay: My client, an iconic luxury property in Plettenberg Bay, is seeking to appoint a Maintenance Manager to join their dynamic team. Candidates with a post-school technical qualification and at least 3–5 years’ experience in a five-star hotel or similar high-end environment will be considered. Applicants who will reside in the area at the start of employment are invited to apply. Purpose of the Role: To take full responsibility for the upkeep and seamless operation of an iconic Plettenberg Bay property by directing all maintenance activities, carrying out routine repairs, and leading a small technical team to ensure the venue remains in immaculate condition.Key Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To
- Plan, schedule and supervise all preventative and reactive maintenance across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems
- Inspect facilities regularly, identify issues, and implement effective solutions
- Oversee servicing and maintenance of refrigeration units and air-conditioning systems
- Manage relationships with external contractors and service providers, ensuring quality and cost control
- Source, purchase, and maintain adequate stock of essential maintenance supplies
- Monitor and manage the maintenance budget while maintaining accurate records
- Post-school technical qualification or trade certification advantageous
- Minimum 3–5 years’ maintenance management experience within a five-star hospitality environment or comparable high-end property
- Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and oversee maintenance programmes
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems
- Computer literate and comfortable with maintenance management software
- Energetic, motivated, and collaborative, with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Flexibility to work shifts and respond to after-hours call-outs when required
