Description:
The Operations and Technical Director will be responsible for leading end-to-end production operations, driving technical innovation, and ensuring strategic alignment of capital investments. The role will require a balance of strategic thinking, technical expertise, and hands-on leadership. The individual will also play a key role in workforce development, performance management, and ensuring all production meets customer expectations in terms of cost, quality, and delivery.Key Responsibilities:
Oversee end-to-end production operations, from preparation to finishing. Ensure production output meets business targets for quality, cost, and timelines. Develop and implement operational strategies to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Monitor and improve key operational metrics including OEE, machine uptime, and cost per unit. Introduce efficiency benchmarks across departments and ensure accountability. Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and legal standards. Provide technical direction across multiple production processes. Oversee maintenance, optimisation, and integration of production equipment and technology. Lead research and development initiatives and implement new technologies. Drive and motivate capital investment proposals with clear ROI justification. Manage installation and commissioning of new equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues impacting production. Lead, mentor, and develop operational teams to foster a high-performance culture. Collaborate with HR on training, development, and workforce planning. Contribute to business strategy and planning in terms of capacity, capability, and technology. Align operational capacity with customer requirements and support new business initiatives. Participate in budgeting and resource allocation decisions related to technical investments. Key Attributes:

Degree or diploma in Engineering, Operations Management, Printing Technology, or related field Minimum 10 years experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in senior operations or technical leadership Strong knowledge of multiple production and finishing technologies Proven experience in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) Demonstrated success in motivating, planning, and implementing capex projects with measurable ROI Strong business acumen with a track record of delivering operational efficiencies and
