Description:
Key Responsibilities:Full bookkeeping function up to trial balance. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable. Process bank reconciliations, cashbooks, and journals. Preparation and submission of VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns. Assist with monthly management accounts. Support annual audit process with external auditors. Oversee and mentor junior bookkeeping staff (if applicable). Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards. Liaise with external stakeholders (auditors, SARS, suppliers, clients).
Requirements:
Relevant Finance/Accounting qualification (Diploma or Degree advantageous). Minimum 5 years bookkeeping experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and legislation. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Pastel, Sage, QuickBooks) and MS Excel. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
