Description:

Purpose of Job:

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for adhering to the payroll operational procedures and processes to ensure that all employees and service providers are paid in an accurate and timely fashion and according to relevant legislation. The incumbent will also be responsible for managing and administering the bonus-related processes accurately.

Responsibilities

Perform accurate and detailed calculations to determine bonus payouts based on established formulae, criteria, company policies and procedures.
Ensure that all bonus payments are accurate and processed within the set timelines.
Maintain, update and safeguard accurate records of bonus-related data across the Provest Group.
Compile periodic and ad-hoc reports, providing insights and trends for management decision-making.
Analysis of large datasets through the application of advanced Excel functions (e.g. Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc).
Conduct regular validation of payroll data for accuracy and consistency.
Prepare documentation and reports for internal and audits, external audits, and compliance inspections.
Resolve all discrepancies promptly to uphold data integrity.
Collaborate effectively with all internal stakeholders to gather necessary inputs for bonus administration.
Attend to and resolve all employee bonus and other payroll queries, professionally.
Import information into the payroll system accurately.
Issue weekly and monthly payslips within the set timelines.
Submission and tracking of third-party claims according to relevant policies and procedures.
Reconcile payments made to external service providers and variances between the payroll and financial systems.
Maintain court orders (garnishees) and ensure accurate deduction thereof.
Maintain and archive employee records and files.
Resolve internal and external discrepancies and deal with complaints and queries in a professional manner.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly checks to ensure accuracy of the payroll information.
Provide assistance during financial year-end and audit processes

Requirements:

Qualifications
Essential:

Grade 12 Certificate/ Equivalent NQF Level 4
Certificate in Payroll or Finance related field
SAGE VIP Certificate

Technical/managerial skills

Advanced Microsoft Word & Excel.
Interpretation and communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of payroll systems
Self-management
Planning
Numerical and analytical skills
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Experience
Essential:

2 - 3 years’ Payroll experience, with bonus administration.
Knowledge and experience in SAGE 300 People.

Physical / Legal Requirements

Medically fit
No criminal record
Driver’s license
