MIS Front-End/SQL Technician based in Germiston, Johannesburg. You must hold at least a Diploma in Information Technology and have 3–5 years’ experience within the industrial and manufacturing industry. Qualifications and experience:
- Matric (Grade 12) & National Diploma: Information Technology: Software Development/Engineering (REQUIRED)
- Min 3-5 years working experience in a relevant field involving Software development
- Proficient VB.net, ASP.net, VBScript, HTML, MVC & Java scrips.
- Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server (Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, SSRS)
- A+
- Proficient with front and back-end development, based on requirements from customers and industry best practices.
- Cross platform application & websites development
- Beneficial experience with Microsoft Power BI
- Beneficial experience with Aveva System Platform (Wonderware Scada) would be beneficial
- Beneficial experience with VBScript & MAUI would be beneficial.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for:
- Design and develop visual, interactive, and user-friendly web applications, reports, and decision-support systems.
- Maintain and enhance existing DSS, MIS, information systems, and intranet websites.
- Develop middleware applications and small-to-medium user-defined tools using agile software engineering principles.
- Draft manuals, system specifications, and documentation for assigned systems.
- Serve as custodian of assigned Level 2 systems (software and hardware), ensuring reliability and performance.
- Lead MIS aspects of plant projects and improvements, aligning with industrial automation standards.
- Provide technical support, advice, and recommendations to engineers and managers on MIS benefits.
- Troubleshoot MIS systems daily, implement upgrades, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct plant and departmental MIS inspections, including safety compliance and reporting.
- Support breakdown call-outs, departmental administration, and safety programs as required.
