Description:
A leading manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Component Planner, with strong expertise in coordinating and optimizing production schedules within the steel and tin manufacturing industry, to join their team in Tongaat, KwaZulu-Natal. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to support seamless operations and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:

Develop and manage production schedules for component manufacturing, ensuring efficient use of resources.

Monitor and forecast component inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock.

Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, and logistics teams to align schedules with material and equipment availability.
-
Analyse production data and KPIs to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
-
Support lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
-
Maintain accurate records of production schedules, inventory, and process changes.
-
Proactively resolve production issues and supply chain disruptions.
-
Provide regular reports on planning metrics, outcomes, and improvements to management.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain management, ideally within steel, metal, or manufacturing.

Proficiency in ERP systems, planning software, Excel, and data analysis tools.

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality assurance, and safety protocols.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to collaborate across departments.
