Responsibilities:
- Analyse existing manufacturing processes and workflows for efficiency improvements.
- Design and implement lean manufacturing principles and process enhancements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production lines.
- Oversee capital investment and technology upgrade projects (e.g., robotics, conveyors).
- Optimise plant layout and material flow.
- Conduct time studies, cost analysis, and capacity planning.
- Collaborate with operations, production, and technical teams to identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on operational progress.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and industry standards.
- Support change management during transition to modernised systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering , Production Engineering , or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in an industrial, production, or process engineering role.
- Proven experience in manufacturing process optimisation , ideally within the plastics or injection moulding industry .
- Demonstrated ability to lead capital investment projects and modernisation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Practical experience with plant layout , workflow optimisation , and automation technologies .
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Professional maturity, strategic thinking, and hands-on problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency in Afrikaans is preferred due to team dynamics.
- Willingness to work onsite in Germiston or relocate if necessary.
