Robertson Winery has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Procurement Officer to join their procurement team, based in Robertson (Western Cape).
The ideal candidate has strong negotiation and contract management skills, paired with exceptional problem-solving and organisational skills. This position is ideal for someone that thrives in a high-pressure environment where multi-tasking is required.
The incumbent will be responsible for: *Identifying, sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, ingredients, and packaging from suppliers *Coordinating with other departments to forecast demand and plan procurement *Establishing commercial and contractual terms with suppliers *Developing and maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and identifying new sourcing opportunities *Assisting in creation and implementation of strategies to optimise sourcing and supplier selection processes *Monitoring and controlling procurement costs, and identifying opportunities for cost saving *Contributing to suggestions for process improvements & mitigate risks in procurement process *Overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring proper storage, handling, and inventory management *Ensure incoming materials meet required specifications and standards *Engaging with suppliers on corrective actions regarding issues or disputes *Monitoring and controlling order delivery progress *Preparing purchase orders and order schedules *Assisting with sourcing bulk wine from other wine producers as required *Ensuring procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies *Managing the procurement team *all other tasks related to the position.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, or a related field;
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably within the food industry or FMCG sector (wine industry experience advantageous);
• Experience in dealing with international and local suppliers;
• Advanced computer literacy (MS Office required, ERP systems and supply chain management software advantageous);
• Valid driver’s license.
