    • • Influence high-level business decisions, M&A, partnerships, and strategic initiatives. Deeply experienced in media, digital, and technology law
        
      • Ideally understands the unique risks and regulatory landscape of media and broadcasting.
      • Familiar with newer areas like data privacy and tech partnerships. Compliance and risk champion
        
      • Design, implement, and maintain compliance frameworks across business units.
      • Keeps track of regulatory changes and ensures business alignment.
      • Presents risk assessments to leadership and manages crisis situations. Litigation & dispute resolution strategist
        
      • Capable of overseeing and directing litigation, including high-profile cases.
    • Manages external counsel and keeps costs under control Independent, executive-level specialist
      
    • Works directly with the CEO and Board as a trusted, independent voice.
    • Confident communicator who can translate complex legal issues into clear guidance for non-lawyers.

      Practical background and competencies

    • LLB + admitted attorney/advocate
    • 812 years post-qualification experience, including in-house at a media, tech, or similar company.
    • Solid knowledge of commercial contracts, corporate governance, and compliance.
    • Strategic mindset; able to see the bigger business picture, not just black-letter law.
