Civil Engineer: PrEng vacancy in Somerset-West, Cape Town. Utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) and concentrated solar power (CSP) projects. This dynamic role involves both design and site involvement, offering exposure across the full project lifecycle, from concept to commissioning. This role offers the successful candidate a unique opportunity to become involved in the full life cycle from conception to commissioning of large infrastructure. Although primarily office-based, you will make frequent site visits and enjoy an immense variety in your role that few other companies can offer, due to their unique portfolio of projects.
Minimum qualifications and experience:
- BSc/BEng or MEng/MSc (Civil Engineering)
- Registration as a Professional Engineer
- 3+ years' experience in civil design and project environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and AutoCAD, and Revit is required.
- Experience in large-scale CSP and Molten Salt storage projects will be advantageous.
- Experience in the design and implementation of civil infrastructure related to PV projects will be advantageous
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation for civil project installations, construction projects, network, process control and data exchange related installations.
- Understanding of the relevant technical codes, regulations and standards relating to the development of renewable energy projects in Europe will be advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of PVSol, PVSyst, PVCase, and SAM will be advantageous
- A working knowledge of FIDIC contracts and management will be advantageous
- Experience with Primavera P6 and MS Project will be advantageous.
- Willingness to travel and spend time on site.
