An established courier and freight forwarding company working with major partners like DHL and FedEx is seeking a Junior Bookkeeper to join their finance team. This is a full-time, office-based role suited to someone with at least 3 years of bookkeeping experience or a candidate currently studying part-time or looking to complete their articles.
You'll work across multiple companies and assist in managing high-volume shipment-related transactions. The role requires hands-on bookkeeping to trial balance, and a solid understanding of logistics or freight environments will be beneficial. Xero experience is essential.
Minimum Requirements:
3+ years of bookkeeping experience OR currently studying accounting/bookkeeping or completing articles
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping up to trial balance
Microsoft Office Suite
Experience using Xero
Exposure to freight forwarding, courier, or logistics industries highly advantageous
Ability to manage books for multiple companies
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and time management
Office-based role in Roodepoort, so candidates must be able to commute daily
Duties and Responsibilities:
Full bookkeeping function up to trial balance
Process and reconcile high-volume courier and freight transactions
Manage books for multiple companies
Handle supplier invoices, allocations, and payment tracking
Maintain general ledger accounts and assist with month-end reports
Collaborate with operations to ensure financial accuracy in shipping records
Support senior finance staff with audits and reporting
