What Youll Be Doing:
Research and experiment with innovative data science techniques to develop predictive models tailored to healthcare
Stay current with the latest trends in data science and assess their potential application in the medical and clinical landscape
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand challenges, define requirements, and shape data-driven solutions
Assist in designing conceptual models and strategies that address business needs
Collaborate with data engineers and subject matter experts to ensure robust data pipelines and data quality
Conduct thorough data preparation including transformation, feature engineering, and visualisation
Review, evaluate, and enhance existing analytics and machine learning models
Apply advanced statistical and machine learning methods to build models on large datasets, including distributed computing environments
Validate model performance using A/B testing, scenario analysis, and other appropriate evaluation techniques
Deploy and monitor models in production to ensure they remain effective and relevant
Translate complex data into actionable insights and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
Generate reports with visualisations and commentary for senior stakeholders and decision-makers
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 56+ years of hands-on experience delivering data science solutions
Proficient in Python (including libraries such as pandas, numpy, matplotlib, SciPy), Jupyter Notebooks, and SQL
Strong practical knowledge of machine learning and statistics
Proven experience working in agile, collaborative environments
Background in operationalising models in production at scale
Deep understanding of the data science lifecycle from business problem framing to model monitoring and retraining
Experience working with large, complex, structured and unstructured data sets
Strong data visualisation skills using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Kibana
Understanding of distributed computing frameworks like Spark, Hadoop, Kafka is a strong advantage
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to interpret data for business and clinical decision-making
Ability to effectively explain technical concepts through visual storytelling and data narratives
Qualification:
Numerical degree (BSc Maths, Stats, AcSci, etc)
