Description:
A reputable and fast-paced construction equipment company is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic with strong technical and diagnostic skills to maintain and repair construction machinery in both workshop and field environments to join their team in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will be proficient in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with a strong commitment to customer service and workplace safety.Responsibilities:

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for construction equipment

Perform regular maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure optimal performance

Deliver exceptional service to clients and build strong customer relationships
-
Participate in testing and offer feedback for new equipment and technologies
-
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures
-
Provide training and technical guidance internally and externally (including to dealers)
-
Oversee the quality and professionalism of field service and workshop tasks
-
Maintain and update technical documentation and service manuals
-
Assist with warranty negotiations and materials control
-
Promote efficient service operations, including job planning and resource allocation
-
Travel to dealer locations to provide service guidance and assess workshop activities
Requirements:
-
Trade certificate as Diesel Mechanic, Petrol Mechanic, or Auto Electrical Mechanic
-
3–5 years of experience in a technical role within the construction equipment sector
-
Strong diagnostic, mechanical, and problem-solving skills
-
Proficiency in diagnostic tools and software
-
Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
-
Understanding of health and safety regulations
-
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
