A reputable private game reserve is seeking an experienced Wildlife Manager to oversee the care, conservation, and management of wildlife across various ecosystems, including free-roaming areas, breeding camps, and a predator park. The role involves ecological monitoring, animal health and welfare, staff supervision, and guest engagement. The ideal candidate will contribute to ethical conservation practices and support eco-tourism initiatives. Key Responsibilities:- Monitor wildlife populations and ecosystem health.
- Oversee veterinary care, nutrition, and welfare of all animals.
- Manage structured breeding and predator programs.
- Supervise habitat infrastructure, firebreaks, and veld condition.
- Lead a conservation team and conduct staff training.
- Provide educational and interactive guest experiences.
- Handle administrative tasks, reporting, and compliance documentation.
- National Diploma or Degree in Nature Conservation or Wildlife Management.
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience, including predator and breeding care.
- Valid South African Driver’s License.
- FGASA Level 1 qualification.
- Proficient in wildlife monitoring tools and MS Office.
- Experience with species such as Roan, Sable, Buffalo, Zebra, and Impala.
- Firearm competency is an advantage.
