Lecturer in the Faculty of Pharmacy – Pharmacy PracticeThe Faculty of Pharmacy invite suitably qualified candidates to join their team.
Main Objectives
All academics are responsible for disseminating knowledge (teaching and learning), creating knowledge (research) and community engagement, and recognising differences in executing these responsibilities within the various departments and Faculties. Academics are also expected to assume administrative, management, and/or leadership duties at the departmental, faculty, and/or university levels and contribute to their profession.
The Requirements
- BPharm and MPharm or a Master's degree relevant to the Pharmacy profession.
- Currently registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a pharmacist.
- Tutoring or facilitation experience is required—some experience using a tertiary learning management system interface to enhance students’ experience and engagement.
- Ability to teach in the following disciplines: Pharmacy Practice and Clinical Pharmacy.
- Experience in teaching other relevant and/or related areas of Pharmacy will be an advantage. Candidates with a PCDT permit registered with the SAPC would be at an added advantage.
- Experience with relevant pharmacy software (e.g. Unisolv® and Rx Solutions®) would be advantageous.
- Some experience in mentorship and/or supervision of postgraduate students would be an advantage.
- Some evidence and experience in conducting research and evidence of accredited, published outputs would be an advantage.
- Track record of administration, management, and/or leadership roles (leadership roles may be informal).

Remuneration per annum:
Basic Pensionable Salary per annum: R633,149.00
Cost to Company per annum (Approximately): R826,949.00
