Description:
A dynamic and fast-paced employment law practice based in Walmer, Gqeberha, is seeking to appoint a Senior Labour Consultant to join its professional team.
Minimum Requirements:
• Proficiency in both Afrikaans and English is essential; IsiXhosa proficiency will be an advantage.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport essential.
• Willingness and ability to travel as required.
• A completed LLB or BA Law degree (articles not required).
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in labour law or industrial relations.
• Exposure to Human Resource Management practices is essential.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong computer literacy, including:
o Microsoft Outlook – Advanced
o Microsoft Word – Advanced
o Microsoft Excel – Intermediate
o Microsoft PowerPoint – Basic
o GhostPractice – experience beneficial but not essential
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide professional HR and IR consulting services to clients in a timeous and effective manner.
• Represent clients in conciliation and arbitration proceedings at the CCMA and relevant Bargaining Councils.
• Draft employment contracts, warnings, and other labour-related documents in accordance with client needs.
• Chair disciplinary hearings and enquiries.
• Facilitate and guide clients through retrenchment processes in compliance with applicable labour legislation.
Remuneration:
Salary is negotiable and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
