Description:
A well-established Financial Services Provider (FSP) operating in the short-term insurance sector is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Group Finance Manager to join their senior leadership team. This role carries responsibility for the overall financial health, governance, and strategic direction of the group’s finance function. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead multi-entity financial operations, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and provide the insights and financial leadership needed to support sustainable growth. This is an opportunity for a results-driven CA(SA) with proven experience in complex financial environments to make a meaningful impact at group level.
Responsibilities
Strategic Finance Leadership

Lead and develop a high-performing finance team across multiple business units.

Drive the group’s budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
-
Oversee group-wide cash flow management, capital allocation, and investment decisions.
-
Implement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and cost control.
2. Financial Reporting & Control
-
Deliver accurate and timely consolidated financial results in line with IFRS.
-
Review and approve management reports, ensuring insights are relevant and actionable.
-
Maintain robust internal controls and risk management frameworks.
-
Oversee reconciliations and resolve variances promptly.
3. Compliance & Governance
-
Ensure full compliance with all statutory, tax, and regulatory obligations (FSCA, Prudential Authority, SARB, VAT, Income Tax).

Manage both internal and external audits, ensuring efficient processes with minimal findings.
-
Uphold industry best practice for Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and POPIA requirements.
4. Stakeholder Engagement

Partner with executive leadership to influence strategic business decisions.

Provide financial guidance and analysis to senior managers and operational heads.
-
Foster strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
-
Chartered Accountant [CA(SA)] qualification.
-
4–8 years’ experience in senior financial management.
-
Previous exposure to the financial services sector — short-term insurance experience is a strong advantage.

Demonstrated leadership of multi-entity finance operations.
-
Excellent technical accounting skills with a deep understanding of IFRS.
-
Strong command of MS Excel and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Great Plains, or Business Central.

Clear understanding of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
